What is LEFA?

LEFA is a cab requesting app that connects cab drivers and passengers. To make use of he LEFA app, you are required to download, install & register in the app by entering a valid cellphone number and email address. LEFA allows you to request a shuttle by simply entering the location to which you would like to be transported to. LEFA operates in Windhoek, Hosea Kutako International Airport, as well as lodges and game farms in the Windhoek area. LEFA provides convenient cash and cashless payment options for passengers. LEFA allows passengers to view a driver’s information and vehicle’s details before the ride as well as the ability to track their requested driver in real-time once the ride has been confirmed.

How does LEFA work?

a) Request

Download the LEFA application from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Follow the quick registration process, and add a cashless payment option if you want. Then enter your pickup location, choose the vehicle class that you prefer and let the app suggest a driver that is closest to you.

b) Ride

Your ride comes to you. You’ll see your driver’s contact information and vehicle details in the app, so you know you’re getting in the right car. You will also be able to track your driver/ride’s position in real time. No more false arrival times.

c) Pay and go

At the end of your ride, upon the driver’s confirmation of the end destination, you get to option to pay cash or make a cashless payment. If you choose a cashless payment LEFA automatically charges the credit/debit card on file.

Can I pre-book a ride?

Yes LEFA does offer pre-bookable services. Please go to our bookings page to prebook a ride (embeded link to Bookings page). Please note that pre-booking fares vary from LEFA App fares.

How much does it cost?

All fares through the LEFA app are charged per trip and not per person. LEFA charges a minimum of N$40.00 per trip. Fares are calculated based distance and duration ft he ride at a N$4.00/kilometer plus N$3.50/minute rate. Once you enter your pickup and dropoff address, the LEFA app will automaticaly calculate the fares before you confirm your trip. LEFA offers no fixed fares or surge pricing.

Is LEFA safe?

Driver and passenger safety is one of our top priorities at LEFA. We have put various mechanisms to ensure that every ride is as safe as possible. All LEFA drivers are extensively vetted to ensure they have no criminal record or have not taken part in any activities that could lead to making the LEFA experience unsafe. The LEFA app also has a panic button feature that will alert LEFA’s HQ should there be any danger. All LEFA vehicles are comprehensively insured with passenger and public liability insurance for peace of mind.

Is LEFA Safe for minors?

Although LEFA’s drivers have gone through series of vetting processes, parents that would like to give permission to their minors to make use of LEFA should do so at their own risk. LEFA will not be held responsible for any incidences during service delivery to minors. LEFA strongly recommends that an adult accompany minors when making use of LEFA’s services. Drivers have professional driving permits issued to them by Namibia Transport Information and Regulatory Services, a subdivision of Roads Authority. All drivers have valid registration with the Namibian Tourism Board. All drivers have been vetted extensively and do not have criminal records.
